(By the way those two pics hanging to the right of the cabinet – I painted those myself!
Me and the gel stain quickly went from being strangers to BFFs during that period of time last summer, and my kitchen cabinets were converted from honey oak into a beautiful, rich mocha brown. If you have any oak in your home this color, you need to change it.I’m not trying to be mean, but it definitely dates your home, and believe it or not, it isn’t hard to change. In fact, I think it is quite pretty with the amazing wood grains and such. It’s just the honey oak color that screams 1975 that isn’t my favorite. Well, I mentioned to some in the comment section that we were working on staining our bathroom cabinets () to make these bathrooms look so much better.I took this pic from the sink area so you can see our breakfast nook.By the way we painted the kitchen BM Decatur Buff – a color I will most definitely use again. We have put off finishing the last bits of the house for long enough. Remember how I shared our Stained/Painted Banister last week? Thanks to a new year and a goal to have them all completely finished. And now that it’s done, we’re so MAD we didn’t do it earlier. We actually love the clean dark look of this Java stain…it gives a great pop to the bathroom!
